Nature Photography
When I’m away from buildings, cars, cement, steel, and mechanical noises in southwest Colorado, I’m thrilled to see what patterns and beauties emerge in wild places. I rarely venture away from Pagosa Springs with the intention to photograph a certain species of bird, animal, or plant. Rather, I try to be attentive to whatever my senses can catch from the terrain and wildlife around me.
Nature photography encompasses the mountains, deserts, forests, lakes and streams in their entirety. The many living organisms that survive and evolve there are only the active portion that consumes energy originally derived from the sun - which also provides the light I need to capture the images seen here.
